Advice for Homeowners
At Delta, we are always striving to add more value to our customers. One of the best ways that we find ourselves able to help people if they’ve had some sort of water, mold, or fire loss at their home, is to help them know what to expect as they go through the restoration process.
To help you know just a little more of what to expect should that type of situation happen to you, our team at Delta has put together a couple tips:
It’s Your House, so You Decide Who’s in it
When you call your insurance company about a water loss, for instance, at your home, they will give you a company or two that they recommend you call. But know that you make the ultimate decision about which company to use. Your insurance company will pay for the damages, regardless of which company you use. Pick the one you feel most comfortable with!
Details, Details, Details
When your house is flooding, it can be incredibly difficult to maintain composure as the water’s pouring. However, the more you can keep your head and get detailed information to your insurance company about your loss situation, the better. The same goes for when we receive the call to come help you. We want to know as much about the situation as possible, so we can be absolutely prepared to help you from the moment we arrive. We also need to know if you have any kinds of insurance policy limitations, and your deductible amount.
Talk with your Contractor
When Delta shows up at your house for restoration work, get the details you need. Ask questions. We want to be upfront about our processes and timelines. We also want you to feel perfectly comfortable having us in your home. You might ask questions like “How long do you think this will take?”, “What should I expect from you?”, and “When will you guys be here?”
